What happens at the Consultation?

In the Homeopathy Oxford consultation I try to get a thorough understanding of your health and the exact symptoms you are experiencing so I can find a homeopathic remedy which matches you and your symptoms. The aim of homeopathy is to heal quickly, gently and permanently.

During this in-depth process I ask for precise details of your current illness but I will also ask you about other aspects of your health including your past medical history, energy levels, stresses, lifestyle and personality

Holistic

Homeopathy is a holistic medicine and takes into account all aspects of you as an individual.  You will be asked many questions and together we will build up a picture of your unique make up, a bit like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Many people say that visiting a homeopath is the first time anyone has really listened to them about their problem.  The first consultation usually takes around one and a half hours.

Follow-ups

The first follow up consultation will usually be around a month after the first prescription.  The number of consultations needed is difficult to predict – it depends on your age, how long the symptoms have been going on and your individual response to the prescription. However, with homeopathy positive results are often experienced surprisingly quickly. Some people consult me about a specific condition; others use a homeopath a bit like an old fashioned GP, consulting me every time they get a short illness. Homeopathy is well suited to both long term and acute, short illnesses.

What about seeing my doctor?

It is recommended that you maintain your relationship with your GP or specialist. When necessary homeopathic and conventional approaches can be used alongside one another to give the most effective and appropriate medical care. In many cases homeopathic treatment can gradually reduce or remove the need for conventional drugs. Any change in use of conventional medication should be discussed with your prescribing doctor as treatment progresses.

Where can you see me?

I practise homeopathy in a private house in the Iffley Borders, Rose Hill area of Oxford. It is close to the ring road so is convenient if you are coming from Oxfordshire towns or villages.  It is also easy to reach from other parts of Oxford.  There is plenty of parking and it's near a bus stop too. Since I practise from home rather than a clinic I can be fairly flexible about times and days I can see you.  If you would like to make an appointment please call or email me.

 Oxford Homeopath

I am an experienced, registered homeopath practising in Oxford since 2007. I belong to the Society of Homeopaths, the largest registered body of homeopaths in the UK, having trained for four years at Purton House School of Homeopathy.

I offer consultations to all ages - as a mother I love seeing children improve in health and vitality using homeopathy.  Most of my patients come through word of mouth and stay with me through all the illnesses and troubles that life brings us.

I have a background in book publishing but became interested in complimentary therapy while teaching Tibetan refugees in India.  Homeopathy is widely used in India and I became aware of the benefits of alternative medicine.  And so a few years later I trained to become a homeopath.
